The Children's Foundation through its regional small grants programme supports projects that benefit children and young people in the North East of England. 

The Sir James Knott Trust are a registered charity supporting community projects in Tyne and Wear, Northumberland and County Durham including Hartlepool.

The aim of the Sir James Knott Trust is to help improve the conditions of people living and working in the North East of England.
