Notes from Campaign for Learning Funding training

Options for Organisations to consider:

Everyclick.com – encourage supporters to use this as their search engine
The Big Give – get your supporters to pledge an amount and the Big Give will match the amount
Awards for All  - this can be applied for even if you already have other BL funding and is good for pilots or small progression projects up to £10 000

The Santander Foundation was mentioned as a foundation that is straightforward to apply to and specifically in Northamptonshire which is one of this year’s target areas

Participants recommended the following for core funding
Lankellychase_Foundation

The_Heritage_Lottery_Fund  has a very broad remit with learning/community and intergenerational opportunities as the key

Wates

Corporate Fundraising
– inviting businesses to ask their staff to give as you earn and asking large businesses and shops at Christmas to donate what they would spend on Christmas cards to your charity.
This works best where there is a relationship – who is involved with your work that has connections?

Commissioning
– 25% of  Local Authority contracts will have to go to local SMEs
Only Connect – This is an opportunity to pay to learn and be paid for sharing information about working towards commissioning and LA contracts – NCVO administers this.

Interesting site to visit: New Philanthropy Capital

The Big Society  – how to get more results for about the same investment by involving and engaging the voluntary sector in service delivery.  This is going to be a big topic of conversation.

Charities should consider “Earned income” by providing a service as this money is  not restricted like grant income so maybe organisations need to identify services they could offer and charge for?

Please do add here any other suggestions that have worked for your fundraising recently.
